U2TC race for pre 1966 FIA touring cars

Torrential rain all weekend ! it didn't stop from Sunday morning right through to leaving at 6pm on Monday, despite this we managed to complete both qualifying and race without going on the green bit.

Qualifying was slow due to heavy rain and a very oily track, but we put ourselves on the 10th row, 19th of 28. The race again was very wet, with standing water in many places, but at least the rain had washed the oil away.

A great start saw us make 5 places on the first lap, I think I lost one to a Lotus Cortina that just drove past me on the back straight, however some consistent 2:12 lap times helped us to hold position, I had a great dice with Richard Lawson in his Lotus Cortina until the pit stops where I was delayed slightly as the car wouldn't re start. a bump start saw me on my way and we rejoined with sight of several cars to chase. With the rain getting heavier again I lapped a Volvo Amazon and John Panfolds Alfa Giulieta, and started to hunt down a green Alfa Giulia Ti ahead. Taking the position a few laps later I noticed the water temperature had started to rise, checking the time I figured there was only 3 or 4 laps to go so I backed off a bit and drove to ensure I got the finish, this I duly did, albeit only 0.7seconds ahead of the green Alfa, but a creditable 11th overall against some pretty quick cars, and ahead of the LAwson LC.

We headed home happy, with a clean, straight,but very wet car!

A Very Wet and muddy! Top Hat Organised 'Sebring Salute' Sports car race saw us hopelessly outclassed with Lola T70's, Chevrons, Camaros and redically engineered Sports racers on the grid.

Mighty impressive in their own right, its hardly an even playing field for us. never the less we worked from 23rd on the grid to 12th, 2nd in class behind a BDA powered RS1600 Escort.
