After an eventful but ultimately dissapointing start to the season we've just returned from 2 very successful trips to France and Belgium, competing in the L'Age D'or at the F1 circuit in Dijon-Prenois. and Also in the Historycar event in the tiny principality of Chimay Click on either of the images below for full race reports.
Prior to our visit to France we where finally issued with our FiA papers, this is in the form of a 'Historical technical passport' which basically means the cars legitimately built to period specification and is eligible to race anywhere, something many others won't be able to do soon. Unless we find a pot of gold competing in the FiA series proper is still an unlikely prospect, but we havent ruled it out. If your interested in the possibilities of sponsorship, what we could do for you or if you have an International race license and are interested in driving, please feel free to contact us.
Over the winter of 2004-2005 we where busy building and preparing a new engine, this now produces around 140 BHP, is fully FiA legal, I've just rebuilt the gearbox with a new Straight cut gear kit and overhauled synchros, we have been changing the Diff ratios to try and get the most out of the latest developements on the track.
Our first outing with the new engine was at Goodwood on 5th March at the excellently organised Top Hat track day, for those that missed it, a whole day of track testing and 35 wierd and wonderful historic saloons, from Minis to Galaxies, and a Cortina or three in the MIddle, and if you'd come along to watch it was absolutely free. Theres no comparisson with last years performance, what a difference a year makes. The picture below shows we have a little more power available than before.
